Chaplain Corps: Warrior Ethos readiness workshop Published Dec. 19, 2024 By Senior Airman Katie McKee 82nd TRW Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 82nd Training Wing Chaplain Corps collaborated with other bases and joint partners Dec. 11, 2024, for a Warrior Ethos workshop to strengthen interoperability and ensure Chaplain Corps readiness. Twenty-five religious support teams attended the workshop to experience the Warrior Ethos modules, which affords them the opportunity to become trained specialists preparing troops for the Great Power Competition. “I hope the attendees gain two things from this training,” said Maj. Eglon Angel, 82nd TRW Chaplain. “The first thing I hope they gain is the knowledge on how to become embedded specialists no matter where they are. The second thing is that they can aid and assist their Airmen to be more resilient as we are all preparing for the GPC.” Warrior Ethos is a set of virtues that encompasses values, character and ethics. This mindset will guide RSTs to provide spiritual care and support to fellow Airmen in challenging circumstances. “The opportunity that we have to be connected to the international communities that are at our bases is crucial because there are active conflicts happening right now,” said Capt. Christopher Gilmore, Vance AFB Chaplain. “As a force, we are connected to these conflicts, and we must understand that they are going through these issues now. We have to try to prepare ourselves for the reality of that kind of conflict.” RSTs came from Tinker Air Force Base, Altus AFB, Dyess AFB, Vance AFB, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland and Fort Sill: 75th Field Artillery Brigade. Throughout the workshop, they engaged in collaborative discussion, share innovative ideas and explore actionable strategies that relate to the Chaplain Corps operations.
