Representatives from the Israeli Air Force tour Sheppard AFB Published May 30, 2023 By Julie Svoboda 82d TRW Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Innovative training methods developed by Team Sheppard continue to attract international attention as representatives from the Israeli Air Force toured the base and experienced first-hand student-centered, tech-integrated training. Led by Brig. Gen. Shlomi Konforty, the delegation visited multiple training squadrons for briefings and demonstrations for courses related to training logistics readiness officers, aircraft maintenance officers, and metals technology. The delegation toured modern classrooms and used virtual reality headsets to complete training objectives. Sheppard’s optimized learning environment fosters increased retention of information and career-readiness at graduation. Danny Taylor, Deputy Director of 82 Training Wing Operations welcomed the opportunity to demonstrate training techniques at Sheppard. “We are always eager to host international partners,” he said. “These visits provide an opportunity to showcase the modern, world-class training available on Sheppard Air Force Base, increase the potential for interoperability, and to strengthen ties with allied nations."
