Col. Themely assumes command of the 80 FTW

Col. Gregory Keeton relinquished command of the 80th Flying Training Wing to Col. Andrea Themely May 25, 2017.

Themely becomes the first female commander of the 80 FTW, also home to the Air Force's prestigious undergraduate pilot training school, the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. 

She comes to Sheppard from the Pentagon where she served as a Chief of Staff of the Air Force Fellow. She led a team of Joint Defense Resource Managers who analyzed fiscal challenges and developed strategic vision for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in coordination with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Services, and the Combatant Commands. 

Themely was a Distinguished Graduate from the United States Air Force Academy class of 1995, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a Command Pilot with over 3200 total hours in the F-15C/D, T-38A/C, and T-6A, including 1400 instructor hours and 169 combat hours.
